Pensioner Margaret Singleton lives in East Gippsland Victoria. In 2009, Margaret set off to
have a retirement home built that would accommodate her husband’s disability needs. It
turned out to be a perilous journey that has not yet ended. Over time, it became apparent that
there was a need for a website that enabled ordinary people to share their experience of
navigating the Australian residential building industry. The generosity of Fiona O’Hehir
provided the forum and Margaret willingly joined the discussion.

Disclaimer:

Simply put for the benefit of others, people who contribute their stories and cautionary tales to the BCA are genuine consumers who have experienced the downside of the building industry. They are not lawyers and do not seek to give legal advice. They recount their experiences to raise awareness of the pitfalls that could be-set them and how they dealt with them. The stories on the website are those of the writer and not those of the publisher of the website.
